
March 1, 2010 - Never forget the variables!
We do our research. We live, work, and play downtown and are typically “in the know” when big events are planned to happen. In preparing for our recent shoot of the exteriors of a downtown law firm, we were excited for the wonderful weather, charm of the Thornton Park neighborhood, and calm Sunday afternoon on which it would take place. But on this particular Sunday, there was a Lake Eola festival just a few blocks away. Under normal circumstances, our downtown loving team would have rallied in all of the camaraderie that was taking place; however, honking cars, misdirected traffic, and very interested onlookers kept our heart rates pumping all day.
Fortunately, the day was a success. Working with a great production team and a wonderful client combined with having a car T-boned to our liking, what more could a producer ask for?

February, 2010 - Improving economy, anyone?
Of course, we're not qualified economic forecasters (or even woefully under-qualified morning news show commentators) but we see some real and concrete signs of improvement in the economy right here on the ground in Orlando, Florida and we want to spread the optimism and confidence.
Business has been steadily picking up for the last few months and we see it as a sign that people are pressing forward…doing what needs to be done. 2009 was all about scaling back expectations, trimming the excess overhead, reducing expenses and yes, for a while it was about a universal spending freeze that threw us all into a near panic.
And no doubt there are still significant obstacles ahead. We’ll all have to stay focused and make sure we stay as responsive as last year forced us all to be. But we believe that 2010 will be all about re-gaining ground that we can hold.
Yes, the Punxsutawney Phils of the business world have poked their heads out of their snowy burrows, and shadows or not they’re climbing out and getting back to work.
We like that, and we’re here to help.

1000 Fans on Facebook, 14,500 hits on YouTube. I guess the word is out that we're cool - or maybe just that we're there.

November 4, 2009 - 12,000 video views on YouTube!
Back in March, we began migrating our portfolio content to YouTube for greater visibility as well as the search engine optimization benefits and ease of viewing for clients.
As it turns out, not a bad decision!
In those 8+ months, our portfolio video entries have been organically searched and viewed over 12,000 times. While this may be no achievement to rival 'David After Dentist' (33,728,692 views and counting...if you haven't seen it, see it here), we think it's pretty good exposure for our work, our clients, and our many partners.

March 24, 2009 - Odyssey Creative produces national TV spot
Odyssey Creative has just completed production on a national TV spot for Dallas, TX-based FERTI-LOME, a leading manufacturer of lawn and garden care products.
The 30-second commercial was shot here in Central Florida using the RED high definition digital camera system and can be seen in TV markets across the country over the next two years. Special thanks to all of the crew, talent, and production partners who helped put this project together.

December 19, 2008 - We've got pictures!
Last week we hosted our first ever Holiday Party, and we've got the pictures to prove it (a special thanks goes to to OST's Rob Jones for taking these snapshots).
Certainly we were thrilled with the venue (The Orlando Shakespeare Theatre) and the featured entertainment (original play The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge) was also a hit.
Mostly though, we were just happy to have the time to relax a little - and to say "thank you" to some of the many clients, partners and friends who have helped us do what we do since 2001.

Jonathan brings 11 years of integrated marketing experience with top Central Florida advertising agencies including Engauge and Knight and creative industry trade publication, Create Magazine. His experience includes the strategic development and deployment of marketing campaigns and materials for clients in real estate development, construction distribution, financial services, non-profit and consumer goods categories.
He has also served the recording industry as record label manager, artist manager, and live/studio musician.

Odyssey Creative is HUGE!
Earlier this month, Odyssey Creative was ranked among the largest digital media companies in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal.
While the criteria used in judging size (the OBJ never called to establish, say, the average height or weight of our team members) may be somewhat suspect, we are nevertheless very appreciative of the recognition and are currently reveling in the relative enormity of our own scale.
Congratulations to all the other media companies in the area who made the list, and happy holidays to all!

It's a sign...literally
Concerned that we might one day walk into the office and forget who we were, we decided to put our logo up on the wall in bright, shiny letters. It helps us with that whole 'sense of identity' thing. Plus, it looks really cool.
