January 11th, 2012 - ArtsFest 2012
As a part of our ongoing support of the arts in our community, we’re proud to once again sponsor ArtsFest! Check out this TV spot we produced to promote this extremely valuable event. We will have reserved sponsor tickets to some of the events—just like last year. Watch for an update this Friday and let us know if you would like to attend one of the many great shows (such as the Orlando Ballet’s wildly popular Battle of the Sexes) as our guest.

December 21st, 2011 - Wrapping up the Year
2011 was a milestone year for Odyssey Creative. For one thing, we celebrated our 10th anniversary as a business! We also fully renovated and expanded our office, including the addition of our very own production studio. It’s been incredible to watch our office grow both in footprint and in functionality, and the new space has already proven beneficial to us and to our clients. If you haven’t been here in the last few months, come by one day soon for a quick tour!
We also had the chance to do some work we’re really proud of for great clients like LG Electronics, Berchtold Corporation, Starwood Resorts and many more. Check out our 2011 Demo Reel to see some of what we spend our time doing these days.
Marc was a real traveler this year! Besides his many stateside trips, he also went to Canada, Greece, and probably most memorably, to Haiti. That trip was dual-purpose, to interview a young woman for a UCF Alumni award, and, along with Jim Hobart of MacBeth Photography, to get footage to help promote her amazing non-profit REBUILD Globally. Their most important mission is helping individual Haitians by providing jobs for them. Marc and Jim’s trip to Haiti really touched us all, and together we held a fund-raiser for them here in October.

Watch for more about our work with REBUILD Globally, as we will be expanding our relationship further. One such effort is already in the planning stages, as we are excited to incorporate raising money for this amazing cause with our team in the Downtown Corporate 5k, one of our favorite annual events. Be on the lookout for more information in 2012!
And just last week, we hosted a festive Holiday Party at our office. We had copious amounts of delicious desserts and champagne to celebrate a real banner year. Our new studio was set up to record holiday greetings for people to send out to their loved ones. It was a big hit, especially for people whose families are far away. Ask anyone who was here to share his YouTube link with you!

Thank you all for your support and friendship through the years. Around the holidays, it’s brought home like no other time that our lives – business and personal – are really about the people around us, and we’ve been very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful, wonderful people.
Now to give our whole team a well-deserved break, our office will be closed from December 22nd through the New Year, and will reopen to normal business hours on January 2nd.

November 2nd 2011 – Our 10th Birthday Celebration!
Odyssey Creative officially turned 10 years old on May 9th of this year. However, since at that time our new space was under construction, we saved the celebration of this fantastic event until last week. On Thursday October 13th we opened up our beautiful new space from 4PM until 9PM and invited all of our friends and colleagues to stop by and celebrate with us.
The event was a great way for us to reconnect with friends and clients from all of our ten years. The turnout was exceptional, with everyone enjoying beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres. Marc transformed our new production space to an incredible movie theatre that played clips from movie classics. We even had a popcorn machine so you could really get the movie theatre experience. Jim Hobart of Macbeth Photography set up his camera so people could take fun portraits, also took great candids of guests.

We topped off the occasion with a really big birthday cake with chocolate pudding filling (yes, you read that correctly…it was amazing) that was beautifully decorated by our own Tessa Harbertson. For the cake-cutting, we broke out the champagne for a thank-you toast by Marc to all the people who have helped make our first ten years so terrific!

Sept. 8th, 2011 – Hey everybody, we're getting the blog back together!
Remember that blog we started last summer? Well, The Odyssey has been silent for almost a full year, but so much has happened since then. We celebrated our 10th birthday, we’re expanding our office space to include a production studio, Marc became President (true story), we got a pet monkey (not a true story) and ever so much more.

June 6th, 2011 – We Support Nap Ford!
The Nap Ford Community School, located in Downtown Orlando in the Parramore neighborhood, recently held a fund-raising event to which we were asked to contribute our capabilities. The main event of the evening was to view the documentary film on charter schools, Waiting for Superman, and our part was to record interviews (to be shown before the movie) of several people who are involved with the Nap Ford School, and who understand the importance of this charter school to our community.
We are proud to count ourselves among the supporters of this effort to better the lives of children in the Parramore District of Orlando, and plan to do more work for them in the future.
May 9th, 2011 - It's Our 10th Birthday!
Odyssey Creative LLC was recognized as a corporation in the State of Florida on May 9th, 2001. And by our math (granted, we were not math majors) that makes us 10 years old today.
We’ll be celebrating all year with classic project flashbacks, video scavenger hunts, high-stakes contests on our Facebook page and of course our 10th Birthday Party, which we’ll host later this summer in our brand-new expanded office space…construction in progress!

May 5, 2011 – We're Expanding!
In advance of our 10th Birthday (more on that later), Odyssey Creative is pleased to announce that we are expanding our home in the historic Kress building downtown. The new space is almost three times our current footprint and will include several new private offices, a new break room, a large central meeting area, and an enclosed studio space where we will shoot interviews and the like for many of our projects.
The lease is signed, demolition has begun, and we expect to occupy our new space within just a few short weeks. As part of our year-long celebration of 10 years in business, we’ll be hosting our annual birthday party in the new space later this summer so keep your eyes peeled for a Save-The-Date, as well as more pictures from the demolition and the construction.
April 19, 2011 – So, THAT'S what we look like...

April 1, 2011 – Corporate 5k...not an April Fool's joke!
On April 14th, Odyssey Creative is taking part in the IOA Corporate 5k. We currently have a great team for the walk/race/crawl through the streets of downtown Orlando, and to finish the night we are hosting a private after-party for everyone who joins us.

February 21, 2011 – Welcome aboard, Olivia!
Odyssey Creative is very pleased to welcome Olivia Crawford to the team! Starting today, Olivia joins us as Sales & Marketing Coordinator.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, she left the midwest to study Media Production and Theatre at Florida State University, then relocated to Orlando just two years ago where she has been working in the field of sales and marketing right here in our own beautiful downtown business district.

September 14, 2010 – Still Traveling
With how much Marc has been flying, I am starting to see him as a superhero. The latest sightings of Marc have been in Washington DC, a Waffle House in Georgia, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. He must be as strong as an ox to be able to change time zones so often. Read about his latest trips below.
Oh and the next time you look up in the sky and you see something and that infamous quote crosses your mind, “It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman” – you’re right, it’s a plane and Marc is probably on it.

Odyssey Creative makes the list! Odyssey Creative has been recognized as one of Central Florida’s Largest Digital Media/Film Production Companies by the Orlando Business Journal in 2010. We’re ranked #6 to be exact! We are very excited and thankful to our clients, vendors, partners and friends. August 19, 2010 – 20,000 Miles in 27 Days
Our intrepid Producing Director/Frequent Flyer Marc is heading off into the wild blue yonder again, this time he’s got eight business trips booked over just 27 days. Marc‘s stops include our Nation’s capital, the home of the Liberty Bell, as well as the City of Angels. His presence will be missed in the office, but we cannot hold him back from this great adventure. He’ll be blogging this series of trips to help us keep tabs on him. We wish him luck, success and blue skies.

August 11, 2010 – The APCO Conference was a Success!
For the past five years we’ve had the privilege of working with APCO
(The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials…think 9-1-1 dispatchers and police/fire/emt communication directors) on their Annual International Conference.
This year the Conference was in Houston, TX. On top of the four major sessions that we developed, scripted, rehearsed and produced, we had the chance to work with Capt. James Lovell (commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission) and put on a wildly successful Comedy Improv show with some real star power. You’ve heard us mention working with Flo from Progressive? Yeah, she was in our show.
Thanks to all the great folks at APCO International who always make the Conference a great experience for our team, and thanks to all of the public-safety professionals who work so hard to get us help when we need it most. Believe me, if you ever really need to call 9-1-1, you want to know that well-trained and motivated pros are on the other end of the line.
Also, it was pretty cool to meet this guy.

June 8 , 2010 – From Intern to Full-Time - You Go Girl!
Odyssey Creative is happy to announce the advancement of Tori Kirchner in the Odyssey team. Tori has been part of the Odyssey Creative team since her 2008 internship (while she was getting her Master’s of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University). Tori has taken on the role of Production Coordinator and will be responsible for organizing production details. Tori’s strong interest in film and video production shows through her work and she is excited to take on her new position.

Houston, we are go for launch into the 10th year of business for Odyssey Creative. Glancing out into the sky at the rooftop birthday party was just as epic as a space shuttle launch, and we are very glad that everybody got to share that special milestone with us. April 24, 2010 – Farewell to a friend
With great sadness we announce the departure of Holly Steinebronn from the ranks of Odyssey Creative. Holly has been a tremendous asset to this company and we will miss her terribly, but in the end you just can’t keep someone from pursuing their dreams, and Holly was very anxious to return to the hospitality industry where she started her career.
Incidentally, starting on Monday April the 26th, she will be serving as the Catering Manager at the Orlando Hilton in Altamonte Springs - so please reach out to her with any meetings or events you have in the area. If she’s even half as good with your event as she has been with our clients and projects, your event will be a guaranteed success.

April 20, 2010 – Conclusion: 3.1 miles is an Odyssey - and we made it!
Ok, the hype is over. All the promoting has paid off for our urge to have a giant team for the Downtown IOA Corporate 5k on April 15th, 2010. We had a record breaking team for Odyssey Creative with over 50 T-shirt wearing trotters! It was a wonderful time of team bonding and new relationship building.

March 1, 2010 - Never forget the variables!
We do our research. We live, work, and play downtown and are typically “in the know” when big events are planned to happen. In preparing for our recent shoot of the exteriors of a downtown law firm, we were excited for the wonderful weather, charm of the Thornton Park neighborhood, and calm Sunday afternoon on which it would take place. But on this particular Sunday, there was a Lake Eola festival just a few blocks away. Under normal circumstances, our downtown loving team would have rallied in all of the camaraderie that was taking place; however, honking cars, misdirected traffic, and very interested onlookers kept our heart rates pumping all day.
Fortunately, the day was a success. Working with a great production team and a wonderful client combined with having a car T-boned to our liking, what more could a producer ask for?

February, 2010 - Improving economy, anyone?
Of course, we're not qualified economic forecasters (or even woefully under-qualified morning news show commentators) but we see some real and concrete signs of improvement in the economy right here on the ground in Orlando, Florida and we want to spread the optimism and confidence.
Business has been steadily picking up for the last few months and we see it as a sign that people are pressing forward…doing what needs to be done. 2009 was all about scaling back expectations, trimming the excess overhead, reducing expenses and yes, for a while it was about a universal spending freeze that threw us all into a near panic.
And no doubt there are still significant obstacles ahead. We’ll all have to stay focused and make sure we stay as responsive as last year forced us all to be. But we believe that 2010 will be all about re-gaining ground that we can hold.
Yes, the Punxsutawney Phils of the business world have poked their heads out of their snowy burrows, and shadows or not they’re climbing out and getting back to work.
We like that, and we’re here to help.

Back in March, we began migrating our portfolio content to YouTube for greater visibility as well as the search engine optimization benefits and ease of viewing for clients.
As it turns out, not a bad decision!
In those 8+ months, our portfolio video entries have been organically searched and viewed over 12,000 times. While this may be no achievement to rival 'David After Dentist' (33,728,692 views and counting...if you haven't seen it, see it here), we think it's pretty good exposure for our work, our clients, and our many partners.

Earlier this year, the Odyssey Creative team started trying to figure out a way to work with small businesses locally. We know that producing video to tell their stories helps them grow their sales and prospect base, but we also know that many businessness in this economic climate aren't in a position to make large investments in marketing.

March 24, 2009 - Odyssey Creative produces national TV spot
Odyssey Creative has just completed production on a national TV spot for Dallas, TX-based FERTI-LOME, a leading manufacturer of lawn and garden care products.
The 30-second commercial was shot here in Central Florida using the RED high definition digital camera system and can be seen in TV markets across the country over the next two years. Special thanks to all of the crew, talent, and production partners who helped put this project together.

December 19, 2008 - We've got pictures!
Last week we hosted our first ever Holiday Party, and we've got the pictures to prove it (a special thanks goes to to OST's Rob Jones for taking these snapshots).
Certainly we were thrilled with the venue (The Orlando Shakespeare Theatre) and the featured entertainment (original play The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge) was also a hit.
Mostly though, we were just happy to have the time to relax a little - and to say "thank you" to some of the many clients, partners and friends who have helped us do what we do since 2001.

Odyssey Creative is pleased to welcome Jonathan Lee to our team as Client Services Director.
Jonathan brings 11 years of integrated marketing experience with top Central Florida advertising agencies including Engauge and Knight and creative industry trade publication, Create Magazine. His experience includes the strategic development and deployment of marketing campaigns and materials for clients in real estate development, construction distribution, financial services, non-profit and consumer goods categories.
He has also served the recording industry as record label manager, artist manager, and live/studio musician.

We’ve been working with this Florida-based start-up since last summer - producing their video assets and assisting with their marketing - and they are really picking up steam. They just showcased their latest product line at the PGA Merchandise Show last month, and they are now taking orders for this remarkable laser-based putting trainer.

Odyssey Creative is HUGE!
Earlier this month, Odyssey Creative was ranked among the largest digital media companies in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal.
While the criteria used in judging size (the OBJ never called to establish, say, the average height or weight of our team members) may be somewhat suspect, we are nevertheless very appreciative of the recognition and are currently reveling in the relative enormity of our own scale.
Congratulations to all the other media companies in the area who made the list, and happy holidays to all!

It's a sign...literally
Concerned that we might one day walk into the office and forget who we were, we decided to put our logo up on the wall in bright, shiny letters. It helps us with that whole 'sense of identity' thing. Plus, it looks really cool.
